Maple and Melanin is a guided, small-group summer camp hosted for Black people, by Black people in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.
Maple and Melanin is open to adults aged 25+
Camp Highlights
Lodging
Campers will be booked for 4 nights at the Highland Lodge in Greensboro, VT.
Campers will have the option to choose a room with a private bathroom, or a room with a shared cabin bathroom.
Cabin mates will be other Maple and Melanin campers and you may choose your cabin mates.
Activities
The following activities and excursions are included.
Non-motorized and motorized lake activities, including fishing, paddle boards, kayaks, and a pontoon boat for riding, tubing, and knee boarding.
E-bikes, yard and table games, guided meditation, reading, yoga mats, observing nature, delicious naps in a hammock.
Excursions to Hill Farmstead Brewery, The Great Vermont Corn Maze, Ben and Jerry’s Factory, local villages and farms, easy hiking trails to views and waterfalls.
Meals
All meals and a selection of snacks and beverages are included.
Breakfast will be provided by The Highland Lodge.
Lunch and dinner will be provided by Maple and Melanin’s private chef.
Registered Campers will have the opportunity to submit preferences and restrictions for meals, snacks, and beverages options.
Transportation
Round trip airport transfers and all transportation between the Lodge and activities and excursions is included.
How much for all this?
The cost to attend Maple and Melanin includes lodging for 4 nights, all meals and activities, and group transportation.
After registration, just book your flight to Burlington, VT (BTV). You will only need your wallet in Vermont for discretionary shopping.
Double Occupancy room: $1800-$2000 per person
Single Occupancy room: $2300-$2500 per person
A non-refundable deposit of $150 reserves your spot.
Full payment of camp fees is due April 30, 2026.
Registration for Maple and Melanin 2026 closes on July 31, 2025, or after 12 campers submit deposits - whichever comes first.
